Not sure about all the other negative reviews but for the price, this place got the job done. The rooms are incredibly small (the bed takes up 60-70% of the room) but it was generally clean. Shared bathrooms were also pretty clean. There are no elevators, only stairs, so prepare to get your steps in. They provide two bath towels, but you’ll have to bring your own toiletries including hand soap. The front desk was very friendly and there is a bag holding area if needed. My stay was also pretty quiet, yes the walls are thin, but the people were pretty respectful on noise. All in all, for the price, this is a great place to stay if you’re just sleeping. Pare your expectations and you’ll be fine.

Clean, safe, and air conditioned! Could not ask for anything more for this price in Manhattan in the summer. The location was excellent with amazing restaurants all around, the staff was really nice, and the three shared bathrooms on the floor meant that there was rarely any wait (if that is something you're nervous about). Obviously not a five-star hotel, but as other reviews have said, manage your expectations and you'll be fine. It gets the job done! In fact, we were relieved to see what the hotel was REALLY like after reading some of these negative reviews. They are definitely not representative of what it's like to stay here. We had a really good experience. And the somewhat small, windowless room was no problem-- we came to the city to see it, not to be locked up in a hotel room all day :) Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay, so long as you don’t need much! The beds are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the shampoo/body wash they have is great! The rooms are a bit small, but for the price it makes sense! Would highly recommend, unless you want to cook your own food, as there is no kitchen or fridge to use.

I was dying to review this place because please take what I say so honestly. The room itself is clean. I paid £260ish for a 2 night stay, no window. If you plan to explore and are content with full days, little time in room this is perfect. It’s hot so winter kept me warm. However if you’re looking here thinking yeah, 6 days is the plan, just don’t do it. No one can be so active in the morning till night everyday in 6 days. This hotel is ONLY good for short stays and if you’re spending time exploring. It’s cheap and clean. But you pay for the bare minimum. I asked for hot water and they said no as I needed my own cup and I didn’t have one. But am I rating this place a 2 because of it ? No! Understand what YOU want from a hotel in NYC and let that govern your choice . If space, comfort and windows is what you need, this is not the place for you. ( actually also the beds were super comfy, slept like a log, but I also was a little tipsy ). Location couldn’t be better. That’s why I picked this. Close to food, Times Square, a bunch of other tourist things. I saw a lot because of the location

Stay in a great part of Chinatown for an amazing price. Rooms are basic and not sound proof so bring ear plugs and appropriate expectations. Worth paying for separate bath although I found Booking.com tricky and I didn't get what I thought I requested. That said, the staff were extremely helpful in changing my reservation and I will definitely return. Near bus stop to come into town and can walk to everything.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and hallways were clean, and it was a great location near the bus stop. The noise level was not bad either.

This place is fantastic. Exceedingly clean with friendly accommodating staff in the best part of the city. Not a single interaction with staff wasn’t efficient and friendly. I loved my stay here and would stay here again the next time I’m back.

This gets 5 stars for what it is. It is a no frills hotel for a great price. You are buzzed into the building and there are a lot of stairs. The room had a bed, small desk, folding chair and towels. There are individual bathrooms with showers, shared by the guests. The linens were worn but clean. WiFi worked great and the temperature was just right. Yes you can hear people in the hall but overall it was a quiet Tuesday night.

Location is great, walkable distance to all downtown attractions (20mins walk). Room is clean, have share bathroom with good infrastructure for its price. 10/10, very good economic choice

Easy check in and check out, rooms were clean, staff were super friendly and helpful! Great for a quick stay, if you pack light, and if you really just need somewhere to sleep/keep your stuff. l wouldn’t recommend for large groups as a two queen size bedroom was quite small for four people but we made it work.
